ShareX is a free and open source program that lets you capture or record any area of your screen and share it with a single press of a key. It also allows uploading images, text or other types of files to many supported destinations you can choose from.
I've noticed lately that items I removed from the main window later show up again. I was finally able to reproduce the issue today:
Remove any number of tasks from the main window. (Del key or Right Click -> Remove task from list)
Right Click ShareX tray icon -> Exit.
Open ShareX.
I checked the debug log file but didn't find any errors while the app was shutting down or when it was starting up, and was able to reproduce this on both of my computers (Windows 10 1607, Windows 10 22H2), so this may be a common bug.
I've found 2 other reported issues that seem relevant (#3360, #3511) but the discussions got derailed in irrelevant things and the issues got closed. Please consider that this report is not about any technical details, the History window, or the tray menu, but rather a report specifically about the UX issue where something "removed" from the main window later gets automatically un-removed.
(This is very problematic for my current usage because I produce a lot of "junk" screenshots which are not uploaded and are quickly removed from the screenshots folder. I want to clear these from the recent tasks since they have no thumbnails and they push the more substantial screenshots out of the list. I tried increasing the list size limit but ran into performance issues.)
