ShareX is a free and open source program that lets you capture or record any area of your screen and share it with a single press of a key. It also allows uploading images, text or other types of files to many supported destinations you can choose from.
Hi, I hope someone can help me out here.
I am trying to remove ShareX . I'm not sure how it got installed in the first place.
I don't even know where it came from. It wasn't on my computer before. I tried to uninstall it in the control panel, but I noticed on the startup tab of task manager. File.net provided a couple of links for help 1) through STEAM [gaming site] = not helpful and 2) this [github] website.
I'm not a gamer, just an old-timer trying to get by. So I've run all the normal scan & removal tools. As well as the DISM command-line tools and SFC scan which all looked good' Had some corrupt files that were repaired after SFC scan.
I did find it [ sharex.exe ] under start (bottom left corner) where I could disable and uninstall it, but I don't see the program in add and remove programs either. It's only on the start up tab in task manager now. I did a search of my C: drive for it but have come up empty. Can anyone help me out? Have you heard of such madness?
Thanks In Advance For Your Help !

Having also this problem. I am convinced this software is not legit and makes everything possible so it cannot be uninstalled. Windows should retire it as soon as possible from their Windows store
