[ ] Review structure of extension, refactor as necessary
[ ] Improve documentation within code and in github to be comprehensible to external developers with minimal/no technical support

Goal is to get the IMAGE browser repo into a clean, documented state so that it can be passed along to new developers, and be used by external teams more easily. Ping to @JRegimbal for adding more specifics based on experience implementing the initial version.

Nothing else is coming to mind now except perhaps ensuring that our documentation provides some rationale for why features were implemented as they were. Other teams will be working in different contexts, so that type of explanation could be useful.
