It is fine if the request is fully declined, but as I discovered the mod recently, had this problem, and found the solution, since the mod doesn't seem to be worked on anymore I thought i could at least share my fix.
If this fix could introduce any other problem please do tell me, i'll try to look at those as well.
As a side note, after reading some of the code, I'm definitely going to add some improvement on the tenant npc code side (maybe some other areas later we'll see) I'm okay with merging and contributing to the master repo but would very much like the opinion of the creators of the mod first, if you are ok with that please leave me a way to contact you here. If you just want to accept this fix and not continue any discussion that is also fine as well, I'll understand.
