Mod crashes before it hits the main menu.

Me and a friend have been trying to install mods into starbound for days on end, but for some odd reason, only steam workshop mods actually work. Manually installing the mods into the mod's folder will result in a crash. I have read the installation instructions time and time again, and I'm still stumped how the game repeatedly crashes over and over again, can someone please help?

The instructions are outdated. Make sure the mod is in the starbound/mods folder with the entire mod in it's own folder.

We have been doing that. I would like to know is there any mod that could help fix this as it seems our versions don't work with any mod as I've tested.

I do at most, as I got some mods installed from steam, and we already tested without them, the game still crashes.

I did a bit of looking and it is not a file, but a line of code for character races. It is most likely a race that is not coded properly. I'll check the two this mod has.

Yes. The only mod I have running is Xbawks Caracter Extender, that's all from steam, other than that, there are no other mods.

The game runs just fine with Xbawks Character Extender, though the mod on steam was last updated on Aug 2, 2016.
