avatar during signup is lost #422

to reproduce: 1) log out 2) create new account w/ email 3) set avatar on first screen (by taking a new picture) 4) succeed in creating account

expected: go to settings, see the avatar you set

actual: default avatar is shown in settings

also: default avatar is shown on web, indicating the avatar isn't saved
