Unfollow a user on Twitter doesn't unfollow the user's tweeted videos within Shelby. #189

Steps to reproduce: 1) Follow a user on twitter who shares video 2) Observe you're seeing their video in Shelby 3) Unfollow the user on Twitter 4) Observe that video from this user still shows up in Shelby

I've noticed this with twitter user @johndurant - I'm no longer following him on twitter but got a video he just shared on Twitter through Shelby. There is no option to unfollow this user from within Shelby.

We've also had reports from Shelby users who are seeing this issue: https://twitter.com/geddon/status/306774589218893824

NB: Users follow Rolls in Shelby. Once you're following a Roll (which may have happened automatically b/c of a tweet or FB post), Arnold/Predator are not set up to automatically un-follow that roll in any situation.

But: if you unfollow a roll in Shelby, you will never automatically start following that roll again (even if you continue to follow that person on twitter/fb).

@spinosa Given that we're going to invite people to the app, I feel like this has a pretty big user-experience impact on people for those it affects. If they connect accounts and don't get the experience they expect (that Shelby should mirror what they're getting in their Twitter feed) then they're likely not to trust the app. We only really get one chance with that so I'd like to see us fix this in the next few weeks. Any estimate on the amount of work it would take to fix?

it's a lot of annoying work. and i'm not sure we can guarantee 100% success without a huge amount of effort.

i would make unfollow easy from the app (ie. directly in your stream) long before embarking on this

Interesting.

Had a discussion yesterday re: unfollow from stream and concluded that functionality doesn't make sense given the nature of the stream. Probably best to tackle this in the short term some other way... Let's leave this open for now, though.
