MQTT is it essential for everyone

Hi Scott, Many thanks for the excellent drivers you have kindly created, it's very much appreciated.

Is it possible we could pay you to remove the requirement for a MQTT on the driver when we use for Shelly flood in Hubitat please. Not everyone has such a broker running.

Has anyone supplied you with the Shelly TRV? I would be up for contributing toward the cost of a driver for this so we can see it in Hubitat. Many thanks Paul

How else would you communicate with the shelly flood?? Just got the TRV device but something is wrong with mine and need to contact them about the error code I am getting.

The shelly app is pretty good after the recent updates, being able to raise or lower the temp from within Hubitat would be good and even better if it could respond to the rule machine without MQTT.

For the TRV Shelly sent me a video about doing a hard reset that came as a surprise about how it’s achieved but gave me instant control overcoming any error messages. Unsure if I can share it here though.

The Shelly flood sleeps so a constant connection isn't possible even with wifi so that's why I had to use MQTT.

I already contacted support about the error code 10 I am getting with the TRV.

You’re right, there is no point in seeking to to control it actively from within Hubitat.

The benefit I envisage is that when Shelly flood triggers I could receive an alert via Hubitat on devices that Hubitat can control.

The Shelly flood in my place is two floors above the sexiest kitchen almost ever!

The flood is yet another monitor on two x 300 ltr pressurised hot water tanks with cut off valves and quick drain vents I want to close and open respectively.

You could always use the maker API and a virtual device to send that info.
