Chrome 31.0.1650.4 working with MacType, but only webfonts #85

I just updated to the latest (?) Chrome dev build (31.0.1650.4) and it appears
that MacType rendering is working correctly again!

However, only websites that use webfonts will benefit from the smoothing -
normal (locally installed) fonts will still not be smoothed.

It's an improvement on Chrome on previous Chrome builds, but still not as good
as the 'classic' Chrome 17.0.963.83, which is dated and probably insecure, but
works very well with MacType/gdipp (webfonts and local fonts rendered
correctly).

Yeah, sadly they made fonts look ugly again.

Thank you, but I believe you're missing the point of my initial message.

To clarify, when using MacType, webfonts...

are smoothed in Chrome 17.0.963.83
are not smoothed in Chrome 29.0.1547.76
are smoothed again in Chrome 31.0.1650.4

I believe this is a good thing, especially given the steady increase in
websites that utilise webfonts.
