If check-all-roles is enabled, limited group whitelists are removed if they have all roles removed, that would allow them to whitelist. I haven't tested this 100% through, but I plan to start using and testing this.

Does this still work with "use-id-for-roles"?

No, probably not, would just have to make a slight change to check for it so it works for both
