I'm going to look in to building a docker for this project, I know the last update time was March of this past year and discord recently updated there api in November to v8. Although the old API usage does still work.

I would like some verification that this project is not dead, and that hopefully another update is in the works for some point in the future.

Any input is appreciated, thank you.

Hello. Yeah, the project is not dead, in fact there is 2.0 version in non-default branch (which I made default right now). 2.0 is ready for release, just requires a little bit of testing.
