Could we update $SHIPDIST on CVMFS with this change? Otherwise I have to perform a full rebuild of FairShip every time.

Can be done. But would be good if we can fix the GENIE issue at the same time.

ok, updated shipdist with defaults-fairship.sh, also done as exercise that I don't forget how it works.
