Hummingbird got a api that we might be able to work with.
https://github.com/hummingbird-me/hummingbird/wiki/API-Reference http://forums.hummingbird.me/c/dev/api https://github.com/hummingbird-me/hummingbird
would be alot better to use JMM to use this site instead of importing from MAL (that is messed up from JMM already XD)
i think the site itself looks fair TBH kinda like Trakt but with more direct anime support i guess. comment on each episode and review and that sort of thing. feel there is too little action on Trakt normally on Anime.
Yeah I want to support it eventually, just requires a lot of work.
yeah i understand. just noticed that we didnt have a link to the api and last time we spoke about it so i thought i would atleast share a link about it to just update us here.
i personally like Trakt better but sadly not that many people are using it for anime i feel. which is sad. it is also too sad that almost noone knows about JMM over on that site..... im guessing alot are living in the US where they can stream most of their stuff, not much over here in Norway other than a limited Crunchyroll (which is bad in itself.)
Humming bird is now https://kitsu.io/
Can read the post about the move here: https://medium.com/heykitsu/hummingbird-is-dead-long-live-kitsu-bda6ccfbbcce#.4c15cznd2
"Kitsu is a rewrite and redesign of Hummingbird from the ground up."
looked over the api requests we can make. we could pull larger thumbnails from it. we could technically use this over tvdb if the api was built in.
@ElementalCrisis Kitsu/Hummingbird would also fit perfectly into the V2 Client in terms of looks! title of OP should be edited to fit the new name <3
with the amount of metadata they have now and accessible with the api, we could use it over many others. what i think we need is a metadata hierarchy. AniDB>Kitsu>Trakt>TMDB>TVDB for example. pulling all metadata and using whats the highest quality all over.
just a tiny look at the api you can see that we can get alot of metadata from their site: https://github.com/hummingbird-me/hummingbird/wiki/API-v2-Structures
This is something that probably won't make it in for a long time if ever Unfortunately, we've got a lot of work to do even before Client V2 and that is itself a huge undertaking.
The community sites will be treated like plugins in V2 so they can have separate updates, should make adding new ones easier for other developers.
its a nice step forward with a plugin based system. i like that alot. im just updating info that was out of date on this page <3
their site still got long to go anyway.
I'll keep this issue open, but I don't think this will evert happen. AniList is next to be added and that's taken a long time.

Seems like MAL, but with trending, recommendations system, facebook links, chat, discussion, etc. like MAL but NEXT GEN. it's beta, but the forum/chat/discussion seems to be populated, so lots of people are using it.

Have joined the site and it looks pretty nice.
But it doesn't look like it has any sort of API, which is the main reason I haven't put any major effort into MAL.
I'll look at this later to see if they plan to support it

they will make the api public when its done apparently. so will you guys look into it? they are apparently moving away from MAL (since right now you can import your MAL collection into the hummingbird collection with all the MAL faults as well >____< ) but they are moving away with that so that's good :D
apparently noone have heard of the JMM server system you made. so i made a little shout out about it and asking for alittle support to come our way.

sorry that i really seem over excited and such about the subject but it really looks like it can benefit you both with more users both ways.

Yes, if the api is pretty good then I will support it
The most important thing is being able to associate an anime on AniDB with an anime on Hummingbird

well they arnt using AniDB at all ATM, they do use an import thing from MAL tho. but they are saying that they want to be for them self without using anyone else. they are apparently not that big with people that download their Anime and such. most of them are streaming and they are working on a onsite linking system to many streaming sites like Netflix and Hulu and such. well payed streaming isn't a possibility for me so that isn't happening for me and free streaming is too crappy in quality for my OCD about quality. so for me i stick with real blu-rays in my shelf or blu-ray rips and such from fan subs :D
