With 1.3.1, the game object was hotfixed to allow game objects to be created as they were failing since opgg made massive additions to the game object. This was a positive change, as they expanded greatly on what was originally being returned.
With the overhaul, you can now get several additional bits of information on any given game. Just a few notable ones:
Average tier information
All participants in a given game
Team specific information (champs banned, who got first tower, dragon, etc.)
Game specific summoner information (position, role, items, runes, stats, etc.)
