Use GitHub Issue to Schedule Talks #42

So I've played around GitHub features for a few days. Learning from a few projects such as KopiJS, I want to suggest that we try scheduling talks using GitHub issues.

Signing up for talk

  1. Create an issue for your intended talk
  2. We have set up GitHub issue template, you may follow the template to create descriptions for your talk
  3. Please add labels "talk" and either "⚡️" or "⛰️" for your talk (yeah, GitHub issue template does not support that yet)

Following up with your talk

Once we've received your issue, we'll schedule you to the next available dry-run slot after your indicated "ready-by" date. We'll let you know in the issue and add your talk to the scheduling project. You may refer to the general scheduling here.

After dry-run and when all of us feel comfortable with the talk, we'll schedule the talk into the final talk date. We'll reference the talk issue with the weekly issue. That's when you'll talk :)

After your talk

Please help by adding your slides to the issue of your talk.

If you've opted-in for video, we'll also update in the issue for once it is ready.

Finding past / future talks

We also wish to use this space as our references to our past talks. Some useful links:

Other thoughts

We're developers. Let's get more active on GitHub together :)

Upcoming speakers @Tzyinc @JennieJi @t1ger-0527 @KenLSM could you please check if your talks are already there, and if not, could you please help create issues for your talks?

Also, I'd love to hear your feedbacks alongside this process.

Let's do it :)
