Relying only on Soul Power (#1) for currency wouldn't make for a very exciting game. As such, multiple currencies allow for different interactions with the game's economy system. These more exotic currencies need to be spent to buy certain upgrades, used to activate certain abilities, etc.. This keeps the game interesting, and adds engaging "power spike" moments when the player decides to spend their hard-earned cash. The alternate currencies follow:
Demon Souls -- powerful Souls harvested from ancient threats. Fuel for terrifying rituals.
Soul Gems -- special crystals that are essentially Souls coalesced into solid form. Channel for powerful arcana.
Legendary Souls -- Souls collected from Unique Monsters, each one of which gives static, passive buffs.
Soul Coins -- physical money infused with the suffering of a living entity. Exchange for upgrades at the Evil Overlords' Boutique.
Blazing Heart -- a heart merged with a fleeting Soul, turned into a living entity in its own right. Core of Construct Upgrades, spawning allies to help harvest Souls and defend Lil' Necromancer's life total.
Eye of Eternity -- an eyeball merged with a fleeting Soul, turned into a living entity in its own right. Core of Foresight Upgrades, increasing the chance for fortuitous events in the future (boosting drop rate of random currency steroids).
