Preference window won't close and command key is not recognized

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.get firefox 7 beta for mac
2.open preferences while "ireading" an article
3.enable hotkey if not enabled by now

What is the expected output?
i would be able to see the top bar of the window (with the close buttons) and 
just close the window. 

What do you see instead?
top bar of window with close button is missing. Every key that is pressed goes 
instead in the "hotkey setup" spot. Unable to close the window. 
Also, Command key is not working in the hotkey setup.  Ctrl is the key 
recognizer as "command" anda ctually puts the command sign in the hotkey 
descriptor.  

Getting rid of the preference window is impossible. Actually have to restart 
firefox. 

Browser:
Firefox 7 beta 1

Operating system:
10.6.8 (snow leopard)

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.
