More game collections #4

I would love to help adding more custom game collections to the theme. Would it be possible to share the .afdesign file for all the icons?

Was thinking about adding icons for game series like Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Grand Theft Auto, Star Wars, Sonic, Spider-Man, Tekken, Street Fighter, Mega Man etc.

Hey, thanks for offering to help! I had been using Photoshop Macros to mass produce the existing images. Let me see about making a template so that it's easier for new systems to be added for all variations. Would a standard PSD file be possible to use? I haven't worked with Illustrator before. I'll upload it to a linked Github when ready.

I've just uploaded Templates for Art, Capsule, and Icons in PSD formats. Hopefully these can be opened within Affinity (I've never used it). I've structured them to easily be able to swap out logos and artwork and have appropriate masks and filters as needed. They are stored within the "Templates" folder of the theme at the highest level.

Affinity is a bit different than Photoshop, but I think I can make it work. Which font are you using for the extra text (ex. hacks)? I'm gonna guess Segoe UI.

Also, which save parameters for the webp files? I'm using these.

Okay, so I dug into it a bit more. I've never actually made a year text before as they came premade. However, I found the "POE Vetica New" was a pretty close match. The only issue is the spacing around the "1" is slightly different, but it blends well enough. For the "Hacks" font it uses "Eras Bold ITC" with some adjustments to spacing and italicized. I've included this within the Canvas-Art-Template.

I export them as Webp at 80% quality as you have. It's negligible image quality loss, but much easier to load for weaker handhelds.

Thanks for adding the new art logos as well, I've just merged the white font ones in :) When they are all completed, I can update the premade collections within ES-DE to have these collections premade for people.

Would something like this be possible for detailed? So that the mixed image/video/case is bigger. Right now it's really small because the information takes up most of the space. 😊

This is a nice way to highlight the miximage for sure! I could see the top option being a concept for an alternate variant that prioritizes art. Something like "Textlist - Larger Art". That way it's up to user preference.

Just a couple of thoughts, but I'd want to keep the system logo visible in the gamelist page. The "Super Nintendo" takes up space, but it highlights the system and makes it easier to navigate. It could be repositioned though. The other challenge with the metadata background is that it would not be compatible all of the aspect ratios. The option above would likely not fit aspect ratios like 1:1 or 4:3. That's not a huge issue though as they could retain the older style.

Sounds good! "Textlist - Larger Art (16:9 or higher)" or something? Or is that to much.

Yeah, keep the logo. Just sad that some logos are huge. Maybe have the logo in the upper left corner if that's possible? Almost like a watermark type deal.
