The idea is a thematic search to find games of interest. The search would look for information that cannot be expressed by a string search in a PGN.

I need the help of a chess guy here.

Some suggestions for search:

pawn structure
classical mate patterns (greek gift, Lasker double Bishop sac, Legal's mate, Boden's mate, Smothered mate, e5 pawn sac by White in Benoni structures immediately followed by f5, Bxb5 and Nxd5 sacs in Open Sicilian (also Nd5 and Nf5), ...Rxc3 for Black in Open Sicilian, Siberian Trap for Black in Open Sicilian, ...Nd4 in a position with White : Kg1, Nf3, Qe2, Black : Ng4, Qc7, Fishing pole, ...h5 in answer to h3 with a Black Knight on g4 )

Chessbase has the same thing, where you can search by themes. They have: search by pawn structure (it comes up with a diagram with pawns only to confirm that's the structure you're searching for) Search similar tactics: pin, skewer, discovered attack, deflection, trapped piece, back rank, promotion, x-ray, double attack, overworked piece, remove defender, decoy, zwischenzug, clearance, demolition
