Please add infrastructure support to the Photon 4g. This phone has got little
dev support but rock solid hardware and some of the strongest radios on Sprint.
Infrastructure support would make this phone perfect!!!!!!

Infrastructure support for the Motorola Photon 4G would be incredible.

Interesting note, I as able to very trivially add nat'ing to iptables between
the Motorola Portal interface (usb0) and the broad band interface (ppp0) using
standard nat'ing. Results, I have an instant USB tether, and conceivably wifi
tether as well since the Motorola Portal is capable of doing wifi as well. So
it looks as though the necessary modules are built in to the kernel. Curious if
it's possible to hook into some of that infrastructure?
There are a lot of interesting tid bits with this phone, when messing with the
diag modes on boot up, I noticed that when I start the phone in BP Tools Mode,
that it loaded a driver for an LTE Modem. So not only is this phone GSM/CDMA,
but it also looks like it's covering at least 2 of the 4G radios as well. So
there's a lot of potential to do interesting things with this phone. If anyone
has a spare Photon to ship out to Harald, I'm sure it'll prove a fun one to
play with.

Oh, interesting.
Could you guys verify what "joshcast..." (see the link) posted?
"Go into settings and change:
Device profile - Nexus One

Thanks.

Yes and No. The app still complains that access control is disabled on start
up. The app was able to start up infrastructure mode. On 3.1b6, it didn't work.
On 3.0b12 it did connect to the internet. On 3.0b12, there were two check boxes
for Wifi Encryption on the settings dialog. So it looks like you have an angle
to work with. ;)

This fix also causes the same random reboot and loss of profile issue that the
Epic is plagued with. I'm almost curious if there's not some kind of Spring
Voodoo going on here...

My connection will start up fine and I mostly use the wifi tether for xbox
live. After being connected for about 5 minutes it disconnects and says wifi
has taken over the app. I have no idea why this is happening, any tips

I agree I cannot connect my playstation 3 either I tried the list of the
profiles and yet none of them support it, I just rooted a samsung epic 4g about
5 minutes ago. I added the wifi tether apk to the phone and the hotspot works
perfectly fine on the playstation 3. It's sad to see that the motorola photon
doesn't have a profile yet. It's one of the better hardware phones and no
profile for this beast.
