What version of wireless tether are you using? 2.07 but have tried others

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Start Tethering on phone
2.Start WiFi on tablet, select AndroidTether as you network
3.Try to navigate using any browser says there is Webpage not Available even
though under access control on the phone it shows the tablet connected as does
it on the wifi information on the tablet.

What is the expected output?Internet access What do you see instead? No access

It's really funny as everything indicates that there is a connection to the
tether phone from the tablets settings menu, but get no access to the web from
any program requiring net assess.

Can someone shed some light on this, please.....

I have the same problem with the prevail. It looks like DNS is not working. I
can connect to google through the IP address, but name resolution is failing. I
am using a galaxy prevail, boost mobile, and connecting to it with my Galaxy
Tab. Wifi Tether 3.1 Bets 7. I have also tried Beta 11 with the same results.

So assuming a DNS issue, I decided to download an app to change the DNS servers
manually on my tablet. This solution worked. Changing the DNS servers on the
phone DID NOT work, I had to change them on the tablet.

@ Brady M. Interesting what program did you use to change the DNS servers and
what servers did you use?

I revisited this a couple of days ago because I wanted to use my prevail as a
hotspot for my iPod because my car only works with iPods and iPhones (don't
ask). I still have the same issue. I can connect up, but DNS does not seem to
work on the connected device. Changing DNS servers on the device to google's
(8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) no longer worked for me, but I was able to easily set up
a VPN using the IP of the VPN server and once connected, the virtual network
handled DNS just fine.

This is something boost is doing. They have managed to mangle DNS on tethered
devices well enough that there may be no way around it.

Are you saying that changing the VPN on the server resolved the issue ?

If the IPod has 4G, why are you messing with tethering?
