I am experiencing the same problem. Have tried selecting Samsung Galaxy Nexus
(CDMA/LTE) and it activates on the phone, but no device I have tried can detect
the network.

I was able to get the network to broadcast...
I activated Sprint Hotspot and of course it didn't work because I don't pay
Sprint to tether.
When I activated WiFi Tether for root users, It started broadcasting using the
SSID and encryption password from the Sprint HotSpot app. It used those
settings regardless of what I entered for the SSID and key in WiFi Tether.
I was able to change settings in the Sprint app and then activate the hotspot
through WiFi Tether.
This is not expected behavior, but workable.
I don't know if anyone else has experienced this.

On TMobile, I selected Samsung Galaxy Nexus GSM. That seems to work with 4G on
Tmobile. It usually works, but sometimes it doesn't. When it doesn't I have
to reboot my phone to get it to work again. Is there an easier setting that
someone has found?

I couldn't get it to work on my S3 (tmobile), but changed some settings and it
works perfectly.
I used these settings:
Profile: Samsung Galaxy Nexus (GSM)
Method: Auto
Wifi Encription: Enabled
Enable Access Control (may or may not need, but didn't seem to connect without
it)
Change passphrase to whatever you want
I am getting excellent throughput and bandwidth.

Also seeing this issue. Sprint Galaxy S3. Installed Wifi tether. Set up with
Samsung Galaxy Nexus CDMLA/LTE as the profit, method auto. Encryption enabled
and disabled. Tethering starts with no errors but I can't find the AP
anywhere nor can I connect to it manually.
