Sprint Samsung galaxy s3 jelly bean build

Latest build

Current

The app does not support any jelly bean ROM for the galaxy s3

It begins like its going to tether but never releases wifi signal to connect to.

JB is on the verge of official release, and I've been running leaked builds for
about 3 weeks now on my Sprint SGS III (CDMA/LTE). I really miss Wifi Tether.
Could this please get a high priority?

I had added a Issue also before this one was added (issue 1628). I have the
same issue with all TW JB Rom leaks for the Sprint Galaxy S3. Looks like it is
close to being the final build and release. Please fix. I miss my wi-fi
tether and having to wire tether my phone. Fix it soon, and I will definitely
donate to the cause.

You have a good app here but it seams to be broke on my rooted SIII /W
Jellybean can you please look into this and fix. A LOT of people are
complaining about this in the Samsung Galaxy SIII forum on XDA. Thank you.

Please add support for JB on GS3. I strictly use my GS3 or internet at home and
thus can't upgrade to JB unless WiFi Tether works. I would gladly donate to get
this as it's saving my lots of money per month.

How can we get this app working for jelly bean. It is an amazing app and
everybody I know uses it. Jelly bean is the newest release and I hope we can
get this up to date before it been done somewhere else . Thanks and good luck

Digging on the S3, the actual wifi driver lives in a separate processor that
communicates over the DHD bus. That driver is rejecting all requests to go
into ad-hoc or infrastructure mode. The official sprint wifi tether probably
sends an undocumented secret command to enable the mode - someone who pays the
$20 legit tethering tax would have to check. In short, it's a deliberate
lock-out by sprint to prevent unpaid wifi tethering, and they put more effort
into it than simply disabling the checkbox.

As an aside, it seems that the official 'wifi direct connect' is also broken on
the TW JB leak due to this software protection.

Hey dan.meri...

Is it possible to pull the old wifi drivers from ICS and insert them in our JB
Rom and get it working? If so what are the names of the driver files used, and
I will try replacing them from an a TW ICS Stock ROM driver and see if it runs
at all. Just a thought.

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
troy: Well you can try it with the older firmware (LIF), but the firmware is
just a pile of binaries labeled "modem.xxx", and grepping for WLAN shows it in
a number of them.

However, there are reports that people got tethering to work for short periods
on the LJ7 leak, which would indicate that the required code to change the mode
to AdHoc is somewhere in the system framework.

Hopefully the fresh source release from Samsung will provide some new answers.

I tried the TrevE mod yesterday and I was able to see the SSID only the first

only show a black screen after unlocking.
