I'm getting the same error on my Samsung Galaxy S2 Epic 4G Touch on Sprint.
Using Android 4.1.2 and WIFI Tether 3.2 Beta 2.

I've tried setting the routing fix, changing the lan, changing the channel,
with and without encryption.
