Network interface not found in root HTC Tattoo #315

Which device (manufacturer, type)?
HTC Tattoo

Which firmware is installed?
Android 1.6

What version of wireless tether are you using?
2.0-pre8

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.connect the tatto with "adb shell"
2.run "/data/data/android.tether/bin/tether start 1"
3.also run "ifconfig"

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Error was occurred when "/system/bin/ifconfig eth0 ..." was run:
"error: SIOCSIFADDR (No such device)"
Also, there was no network interface found when "ifconfig" was run.

Please provide any additional information below.

The problem is solved by changing wifi.interface in tether.conf, but i still 
cannot
use the tethering /.\... please refer to the new issue.

i have installed wireless tether 2.0.5 pre11  both in htc G7 and  htc G4 
G7 can work well, the sign both found by G4 and itouch 
G4 wireless tether  can found  by itouch,but can  not found by G7
