Type a detailed description about your request
I would like to change the images that get used in a widget when it is added on
a screen.

Attach mock-ups/screenshots if you can.

Please provide any additional information below.
My girlfriend would like to have a semi-transparent Handcent-widget. Many
people want different backgrounds, which led to the transparent versions of
most of the system-app-widgets. If you want to do the same thing with a
3rd-party-app from the market, you will have to resign the .apk yourself and to
delete the old version from your phone, and you won't get updates from the
market.
Therefore it would be great if there was an option to change the .png's that
get loaded. I don't think this is possible, since probably the widget itself
loads the image-files, but want to hear this from somebody who knows for sure
before giving up ;)

Based on the discussion about widget selection highlights I think it is down to
the Widget itself (unless you're using a metamorph theme I think) hope this
helps

You're both right in saying that it is controlled by the widget/app and not the
launcher (unfortunately!).
