Hello, how are you ?, I contacted you on reddit. Attached below are some ideas of events or decisions for Argentina. Soon I will send you some changes in the names of the provinces and regions.

• 1861 Mendoza earthquake. occurred in the province of Mendoza, Argentina on 20 March at 11:30 PM. It had a magnitude of 7.2 on the Ms scale and an intensity of IX in the Mercalli scale. Its hypocenter was located at an estimated depth of 30 kilometres (19 mi). The earthquake devastated the provincial capital, Mendoza, killing 4,300 of its 12,000 residents and injuring 750. Most of the buildings were destroyed, including the cabildo (colonial government house). The town was rebuilt in a nearby location, and the authorities moved to their new seat in 1863. The new constructions, which incorporated modern architectural tendencies, were markedly different from the old colonial buildings.

• Martín Fierro, is a 2,316-line epic poem by the Argentine writer José Hernández. The poem was originally published in two parts, El Gaucho Martín Fierro (1872) and La Vuelta de Martín Fierro (1879). The poem supplied a historical link to the gauchos' contribution to the national development of Argentina, for the gaucho had played a major role in Argentina's independence from Spain (more info)

• The Museum of La Plata is a museum of natural sciences located in the city of La Plata, established in 1884, The building, 135 meters (443 feet) long, today houses 3 million fossils and relics (including 44,000 botanical items) (more info)

• In 1897 the Universidad Nacional de La Plata (National University of La Plata) was founded, the third university in the country.

• Tango Music (1890-1900) (for Argentina and Uruguay) emergence of tango (music and dance). It gives prestige to the country, since it would be known all over the world (more info)

• Revolución del parque (more info) was an uprising against the national government of Argentina that took place on 1890 and started with the takeover of the Buenos Aires Artillery Park. It was led by members of the Civic Union (which would later give rise to the modern Radical Civic Union) against the presidency of Miguel Juárez Celman (of the National Autonomist Party). Though it failed in its main goals, the revolution forced Juárez Celman's resignation and marked the decline of the elite of the Generation of '80.

• Creation of the “Banco de la Nación Argentina” (Bank of the Argentine Nation) was founded on 18 October 1891 by President Carlos Pellegrini, with the purpose of stabilizing the nation's finances following the Panic of 1890. (more info)

• Argentine Revolution of 1893 (more info) The Argentine Revolution was a violent uprising by the Radical Civic Union (UCR) against the Government of Argentina. Initially, the UCR leadership attempted to take power by legal means, but this allowed the government to suppress their movement by force.

• Juan B. Ambrosetti Museum of Ethnography, established in 1904 (more info)

• The Sáenz Peña Law was Law 8871 of Argentina, sanctioned by the National Congress on 10 February 1912, which established the universal, secret and compulsory male suffrage though the creation of an electoral list (Padrón Electoral). It was approved during the presidency of Roque Sáenz Peña, main supporter of the law. (more info)

• Argentina Brazil border treaty (in brazil know as “Questão de Palmas”) (in argentina “Laudo de Cleveland sobre Misiones“ was defined by the Treaty of 1898 (which is based on a Arbitration Award 1895), referred by US President Grover Cleveland awarded the entire territory in dispute to Brazil. • In 1904, Argentina began the occupation of the first permanent establishment in Antarctic territory, by establishing a base in the islands Orcadas del Sur.

• Argentine Revolution of 1905 also known as the Radical Revolution of 1905 was a civil-military uprising organized by the Radical Civic Union and headed by Hipólito Yrigoyen against the oligarchic dominance led by Julio Argentino Roca and his National Autonomist Party. (more info)

• The Argentine Regional Workers' Federation (Spanish: Federación Obrera Regional Argentina; abbreviated FORA), founded in 1901, was Argentina's first national labor confederation. It split into two wings in 1915, the larger of which merged into the Argentine Syndicates' Union (USA) in 1922. (more info)

• The Argentina Centennial (1910) was celebrated on May 25, 1910. It was the 100th anniversary of the May Revolution, when viceroy Baltasar Hidalgo de Cisneros was ousted from office and replaced with the Primera Junta, the first national government. (more info)

• in 1914, the Universidad Nacional de Tucumán (National University of Tucumán) was founded

• ABC Pact (1915) used to describe Argentina, Brazil and Chile. met to sign a more formal treaty, designed to develop cooperation, nonaggression and the arbitration of disputes. It was formulated to resist United States' influence in the region and to establish mechanisms for consultation among the three signatory countries, such as setting up a permanent mediation commission. The official name was the Consultation, Non-Aggression and Arbitration Pact. (more info)
