If you have a theme already installed and you use the script to install an addon it will remove the theme #2

No it doesn't removes theme for me I had theme and installed add-on but it didn't removed my theme so maybe this bug only goes to your panel have you installed your theme from somewhere else?

That is just plain stupid, the script deletes the admin side theme when installing the statistics add-on which doesn't even function properly.
