Zones get lost #1751

2.8.2 The zones get lost on server restart if I set zones from my app, Zones are preserved if it's set via Data Browser -> Meta Data interface.

You first created one issue #1749 for this. You got answered and a request to provide more information. As maintainer I can say that it is very often useful to know why somebody is doing something. Sometimes this discussion shows holes in the feature set or thinking that has gone into Signal K, sometimes the answer is that we can accomplish the goal by some other means than what was originally thought.

However you chose to answer pretty arrogantly and not to provide any background. The discussion did not improve from that and your issue was closed.

The solution to this situation is not creating a duplicate issue, but to rethink your approach. If you want to cooperate and people to help you you need to treat others with respect, not arrogance.

If arrogance was unintentional try to be extra polite & friendly in the future.

I am now closing this issue as duplicate. If you want to continue the discussion feel free to reopen #1749 and provide more details about your use case.

Teppo, I understand: corporate solidarity and all that. But I have provided a comprehensive description of the bug that exists. And you deny its existence.

I am not denying anything: metadata sent in meta deltas is not persisted.

I pointed you a way forward, it is your choice to take it.
