Judging from the lack of updates, outdated dependencies and no response to query about abandonment gitbook-cli appears dead.

There is https://www.npmjs.com/package/gitbook-updated-cli

https://docsify.js.org/#/?id=docsify appears similar, but client side.

Also https://vuepress.vuejs.org/guide/
