Bosses, Collectables and Structures Idea that would fit the mod? #128

  1. Adding Grimoir of Gaia boss Mobs the Mod has the potential to add in Boss Mobs (Stronger and with a bit more mechanics than the Tier 3 Mobs) they could either be Natural spawning rare mobs or Summoned when collecting special drops or items from the other mobs

  2. The Boss mobs could be related to some of the More powerfull Yokais of or other Strong Mytologycal creatures revisioned in the style of this mod

  3. For example Goblin King Collect items from Goblin types and similar to summon him.

  4. The Tengu Shoots Feathers with a leave fan and can fly maybe.

  5. Nurarihyon the Leader of all yokai (little old dud with a big long head can teleport and stuff would need you to collect items from all youkai mobs in the mod)

  6. Some kind of Dragon needs materials from dwarfs and valkyries and maybe Sharokos and the like.

  7. A Werewolf and a Pureblooded Vampire would be fun to.

  8. Well you can probably thing of more than me I just wanted to let the idea of bosses and collectables Stick in your head. (maybe Spawned In Rare Structures would be better than collecting items well that’s for you to decide)

PS: (now that I think of it you should definitely add in some structures that can spawn in biomes that can spawn mobs like Small labyrinths for biomes with minotaur’s or Small Castles for Maintains with Dwarfs just for the ambient And colony for the dessert with spawners in them dedicated to that mob type. Well not all around just a chance to spawn a structure in that biome) (and maybe a Book with the design of the Logo of the mod that hold information on all the Mobs etc there are many books of other mods that would have fitting style like the botania one)

I have been thinking about it. My biggest issue is where they spawn.

Summon mechanics seem to only work with mobs like the Wither where it has nearly no constraints on its movement. And for a good reason, as if it had normal mob restrictions players could easily farm it by imprisoning it. I have been thinking of open fields such as the Nether of the Plains but, I dunno. Players have always had issues with the Minotaur spawning there.

I don't plan on adding structures; I simply do not have the ability to code them. Although I will admit, having naturally generating structures would solve the boss issue stated above. If you want to see these mobs spawning in dungeon-like structures I suggest looking into a mod called Ancient Warfare 2. They current support some mobs from this mod in their structures.

(and maybe a Book with the design of the Logo of the mod that hold information on all the Mobs etc there are many books of other mods that would have fitting style like the botania one)

It is not really on my to-do list right now but I do see the benefits in making one for the mod. If I ever did get around to making one I would likely use a book mod the author of Botania made named Patchouli.

First of all Loving this mod always one of my favorites.

Using Patchouli for the book would be a great idea these books work fine and mostly have no issues and also implement quick wiki linking and other neat features and since many mod start to switch to patchouli books it won’t even matter if yours would than depend on that mod as most other mods will do so as well and it is already in many modpacks (in my current one there are 3 patchouli books botania/midnight/roots all work great)

Well structures are a neat thing to have and there are tons of them I think if you simply made bosses and didn’t spawn them via like the feral goblins would be a possibility mods like ancient warfare would probably use them in structures and modpacks have ways to add them in neatly into as well via quest commands and stuff. And you could think about structures later on or have them spawn as random spawns when collecting certain items to summon them with a ritual (just make the ritual need a lot of free space like the Gaia ritual from botanai XD basically forces players to not cage the bosses Xp)

Glad to hear. I haven't used Patchouli myself but it has been recommended to me since it was released.

I could do that; making stock boss mobs for modpacks and such. I'll have to think about it.

You already have the feral goblin as stock mob (not spawning naturaly needs to be added via other mods spawners etc)

So adding a few more wouldn’t hurt until you yourself find a way to implement them naturally etc. That way you would automatically get some testing and beta testers in Xp as they would al try out the mobs for structures or as spawn eggs etc giving you feedback if one of them crashes (like the feral bombers do (just take the bombs away from feral gobos to advanced for them))

But the book would be a really good idea you could basically add in the Wikipedia pages partially cut and sized for each mob (patchouli was specifically made for easy to add book/mod documentation with a neat look running on the lexica botania style that revolutionized minecraft modded in game documentation (the draconic evolution project intelligence is also an option but that one is harder to use and it just doesn’t look that fancy only draconic and ender io use it atm for tech mods its ok but not for fantasy mods like GoG))

If you need any kind of feedback or the like feel free to contact me over my modpacks discord or just on curse/twitch I played with GoG since the resonant rise days where I basically collected all the mobs in my garden and even had a (mermaid ….“Trading center” XD where I farmed the boxes until I got all the cards for the npc mobs as well XD)
