Hello, as it stands the capabilities and range of assist mobs is rather low. In attempting to keep in line with what I can assume is the spirit and scope of Grimoire of Gaia, I believe the following changes and additions should be made.
Disclaimer: all of these suggestions are based on my understanding of code currently in the game -- anything requiring direct additions to make anything work is out of the scope of my suggestion.
Suggestion One - Assist Mobs
While there are several levels of assist mobs, only one tier of them is actually capable of "assisting" through the use of regular monster food while the rest are equatable to neutral mobs.
For convenience of all readers, and to my knowledge, the following level 1 assist monsters are capable of being given the Iron Golem AI:
The issue with this lies wherein we have these wonderful mobs in the higher levels of the assist category that we never truly get to utilize -- only as a neutral mob that we can victimize and farm.
Suggestion One: Beyond including Goblins in the Golem-able category I believe that a second tier of "regular monster feed" (using either rarer, or a higher volume of resources) should be available that can be used on level 2 assist monsters and give them the Iron Golem AI. In cases of level 3 assist mobs (solely the Valkyrie) a unique item very rarely dropped from that specific mob could be used to disable the aggro radius and switch it to Golem AI.
Suggestion Two - Premium Monster Feed
As it stands, premium monster feed is an item that will typically rarely be encountered by a player. For such a rare item its affects are rather muted and "not worth it," one might say. I propose the following changes:
Suggestion Two: Change the effect of premium monster feed from "Removes initial hostility of all aggressive mobs" to "Removes the initial hostility of all aggressive mobs, and allows use of [regular/advanced regular] monster feed." There would likely be a few mobs exempt from this, I'm sure. If not this, at least make it possible through higher tier items.
Suggestion Three - Ride-able Gryphons
The premise behind this is that I, and many other people I've played this mod with, have always hypothesized how cool it would be to mount and breed gryphons. Gryphons are a popular animal to be featured as a mount or steed in fantasy settings -- including but not limited to Warhammer Fantasy and Warcraft.
Suggestion Three: Potentially still requiring assist-mob conversion, allow gryphons to have the same code as Vanilla horses that affects the ability to ride them, breeding, health, and stamina. As an alternative to assist mob conversion, allow them to be tamed like a vanilla horse using a rare food or item sourced from GoG mobs -- perhaps a golden medallion in theme with the real life cultural depiction of gryphons. Additionally, a limited glide/flight effect would be interesting while mounted as well.
In retrospect, I'd also like to push the alternative idea of a config setting that can determine which mobs are able to be placated and "tamed" by monster feed.
