the support gap is still better than no support gap. I tried without any gap and had difficulty cutting a straight line with the exacto.
New idea: make a completely new object to support the upper rail. Start on the bed surface. I made a custom support for the Joycon lock notch (when printed vertically) and it's great.
Joycon and Junglecat rails need support for printing. I have a manual support option inspired by Tokytome's Joycon knuckle dusters which leaves a slight gap between layers. It sorta works but I often can't see the line (I pull off some rail), and the technique depends on layer height (causes problems for adaptive). Removal is best done with an exacto, in which case you don't need a gap, but I'd rather it be tool-free. Make a tab that sticks out and can peel away.
