Hello Pascal,
First off thank you for taking your time to share community. I'd like to point
you to
the new Google API for Java. It is already in the central maven repository.
See
http://code.google.com/p/google-api-java-client
The new client is compatible with all Google services and provides a much nicer
interface. You can expect many new features to be add to the new api and you
have a chance to provide feedback and improve the new api right now so go give
it a try.
I'll see what is needed to add your patch in the few releases.
Thanks again for you assistance to the community and for providing this patch.
Regards,
Ed

Hello Ed,
Good news for the new API, I will try it asap.
Tell me: the current API will disappear or will still be supported?
Regards
Pascal

Pascal,
The gdata java client library will be supported for some time to come.
We are encouraging developers to start new development projects with the Google
API for Java. For starters we want developer feedback. Also, the library
maintenance on our end and the development workflow on developers end are much
improved in the Google API for java library.
If you wish, apply for committer access:

Hope this answers your question. I encourage you to start using the Google API
for Java and submit your feedback to improve the developer experience.
Regards,
Ed
