Search

• Filters: favorite/wishlist, item type, season, realm (constellations & elders), event, emote, currency type(?), hide limited items, hide owned
• Select multiple filters
• Save filter preferences

I wrote everything below and then I started on search filters and realized it can replace a lot of the stuff below (and the search bar is already there) so I moved it to the top.

Similar idea (in the sense of using whats already there), copy the catalogue from Items since it has a few of the important filters already (show owned, missing, favourites, limited). And when an item is selected, instead of directing to the item page, it would add it to the calculator.

General

• An option to unselect everything at once. Right now you can reset it by going to a different page.
• Being able to save collections of items. Or an option to export the items and prices
• Being able to send multiple items to the calculator from the items page (might not be needed if a favourites section is added and would require the calculator to hold information while not on the page)

Favorites

• Adding a dropdown menu for favorites
• Options to select all favorites, or all favorites in one (or more) item type (eg just outfits or masks)

Seasons

• Same as above, include a section for seasons and spirits
• Options to select all items in a season (or multiple seasons), or just favourites

Realm Constellations

• Would be the same as the season section
• Not really needed since the wiki has all the prices and calculations
• However, being able to select all of a constellation (or multiple) and seeing how many candles are needed to complete it, on top of whatever else is being saved for would be nice

Hey, I'll have a more detailed look at your suggestions and respond to your ideas when I have more time. If you want to, you can adjust your feedback based on this since some problems might no longer be relevant!

For now, I'll share this. I kind of just repurposed the search bar from the dashboard for the calculator to save some time. I'm working on improved item filters for the items page. I want to include this same list (with filters) to the calculator page, replacing the current search bar. These filters are only applied when you click on the filter icon and they'll save to your browser.

One thing I'm still unsure about is handling item types. I'm not a fan of "mixing" multiple item types together in one list, so the item type filter is still at the top of the page separate from these new detailed filters. If you have any ideas on that I'd love to hear them!

Also, this may be a little counterintuitive at first but as soon as you check one season/event/realm it will hide all other seasons/events/realms that you haven't also checked. But if you haven't checked any of them then it will show all. It's a compromise to make it easier to filter by one season than to have to deselect all of the other ones.

Hey, since you're already working on improving the item page filters and then plan to use the same setup for the calculator, you've addressed most, if not all, of the things I suggested regarding item organization.

Updated Calculator Feedback

There's a few things I'd like for the calculator. I mentioned a couple of these things in the original comment, but I'll include them here for clarity.

• Filter by currency: hearts and ascended candles. Mostly for nesting props and rewards, but also event items, emotes, music.
• Music section
• An option to export a collection of items and prices. For upcoming spirit groups, like Shattering.
• Import an outfit request to see the cost
• Selecting an item vs looking at the item. Like in spirit trees with the option to find, favourite, or unlock. Ideally the calculator would have to hold onto the previous item selections when you move to a different page.

WIP Filter Feedback

I checked out the WIP version, and I like the filtering. Thanks for sharing it.

When filtering, I found it easier to understand when I checked all as negative then went and changed all the ones I wanted to positive. Its the same as only checking the ones I want but I like the visual.

Additions/Improvements:

• Music item type, not really an item, nor part of the closet but neither are emotes, stances, or calls
• For the filter text colour, orange if everything is unchecked -, green if its all checked +.
• Moving the "All" button to be beside the filter to easily check/uncheck
• Including an option to have the season name beside the icon and the item type under the icon.

Mixing Items

Since you asked, I do have a few thoughts about mixing items. For perspective, I exclusively use the planner on my phone. I didn't even know I could use it on my computer until the other day. A tad silly because it is a website lol.

Anyway, I can't see the item types when I'm filtering, and if I'm just looking for a specific item that I know is a prop, I have to scroll back up and go through each prop category after setting the filters. However, if I know I'm looking for any season outfit or mask, then having one selected is good. So, I think adding an option to disable it and select multiple (or all) would be good.

Looking at both options, I'd like to keep the item types in their own section. However, I don't know if the item type filter has to go with the rest of the filters to work for multiple selection, but it would be cluttered. It would have to go under a dropdown like the other filters.

I don't know much about coding, so correct me if I'm wrong, but having the item types at the top (separate) is like the main filter/branch, then the additional filters make little branches from that. So if the item types stayed where they are and multiple were selected, it would be like holding separate branches and asking them all to follow the same path, and I don't know if that's possible or more work than it's worth.

Items

• Music sheets added (and fixed some of their icons).
• The item list now has more filters.
  • Starter: items you get automatically like the base outfit and emotes.
  • Unsorted: just a leftover category to make it possible to exclude items that aren't completely tied to any of the other groups. For example the Nesting Workshop props that I don't want to tie to the Nesting season filter, the Moth packs and Platform exclusive bundles.
  • Currencies, split into first and last appearance of the item. This way you can filter things like event ticket items that have returned for candles). Gives more fine-grained control than the "Has returned" filter.
• Filters where the unchecked state either hides (if any other filter is checked) or shows (if no other filter is checked) have been changed to "on or off". Reset filters sets all of these to checked.
• Labels (All) and (None) to quickly change all checkboxes per group. Buttons looked too messsy.
• Categories are green if all are checked, orange if all are hidden.
• Short names added to the season filters.
• Shortened the name of the realm and event filters.
• The page remembers if you had the filters open when navigating away and back.
• Some optimizations to make switching item type faster when doing it multiple times.

Calculator

• Selection is remembered (and shareable) through the URL in address bar.
• Selected items appear at the top and can be viewed (new tab) or removed from here.
• The breakdown is folded by default, so you don't have to scroll that much unless you want to see the details.
• Breakdown shows all owned items at the top to reduce used space.
• Breakdown shows tailored spirit trees for any items where spirit tree data is available. These spirit trees highlight all selected items and only show the cost for required items.
• Breakdown shows estimated / IAP prices in a grid with up to 4 columns depending on screen size.
• Improved estimate cost display.
• Season spirit emotes show an estimated cost based on what we're used to seeing (lv1=free, 2=4h, 3=3h, 4=6h).
• Added a message to the estimated total warning that required items such as TS blessings are not included.
• The filterable item list was added to the page to make it easier to add the items you want.
• You can now also search by spirit to add all "key" items from their tree.

Other

• Item type selection will remain a separate control above the item list. I've tried some things to combine them (with a label above each group) in the result but the performance wasn't great. There's too many icons and the site can lag as a result. With the ability to add a spirit it should be easier to select all the items.
• A new button was added the outfit request page. This will open the cost calculator with all the selected items.

TODO

• [x] Check if a season/event is ongoing to use those prices instead of the estimated cost for returning items.

Yay, music sheets! So many filter options, adding starter and unsorted is brilliant. I love how you handled currencies. Changing the unchecked or checked to on and off is great. The "All" or "None" labels with the updated colour changes are perfect. Adding and shortening the names of seasons and events is perfect. The events are much easier to view on mobile. I like being directed to the selected items page. I like how on mobile it opens a new window within the app page rather than redirecting to the browser. For spirit trees in the breakdown, I like that it shows the cost of just the selected items (and required blessings and wing buff) rather than everything. Being able to search by spirit, event, or item is more than enough, so selecting multiple item types isn't needed. I like being redirected to the calculator with the selected items from outfit request.

Feedback

• Expanding TLP to The Little Prince in the season filter.
• Where it says "There are # items (out of #) ..." changing/updating "items" to be the selected item type, like hair items or mask items. Would help with confusion when items don't show up, especially for something like shoes. This is specifically for mobile since filters, folded or not, take up a majority of the page.
• A button to add all filtered items to the calculator. For example, to add all music sheets to the calculator in one click. Or if filtering for one or two things, like seasons or currencies, set the filter then go through each item type and "quick add."
• On mobile, I have the site added to my home screen (both the live version and the WIP), and the URL is hidden. So I'd still like some way on the page to copy the URL. Like a share button, then I can share the link or copy it.
• When searching by season in spirit trees, an option or dropdown on season guides to add all the associated spirit trees. Or have spirits show up when searching by their season.
