Keep History for Missed Notifications #109

Closed zvikadror closed 8 years ago

So many times my kids move those one time notifications, and I have no idea which app made them and what was their content. You should hear me screaming across the room - "Eitan! No don't swipe that away..... waiiiiiiiittttttttt.... shit."

Please keep the notifications upto certain quantity (like - 10 latest ones, or configurable) so it can be browsed "Latest to Oldest" and have peace and quiet that we didn't lose anything important.

Thanks!

Hi!

I can't and won't add all kinds of stuff just because it's related to notifications somehow. Hope you can understand that.

That said; your phone already does this! Just add a setting shortcut to your home screen, and choose Notifications in the list that appears. (Google it if you need more help with this)

zvikadror commented 8 years ago

Well... I didn't know about that and thank you for telling us about this log! This, however, is just an indication without the content. Would you consider keeping the notification content history and display last records without the action buttons / as read only?

From my first reply: "I can't and won't add all kinds of stuff just because it's related to notifications somehow. Hope you can understand that."

Of course I understand. I hope you understand that what your app is doing is all about notifications and my request is a real life scenario which is to redisplay recorded notifications Thanks again ZD On 20 Nov 2015 17:54, "SimenCodes" notifications@github.com wrote:

To put it on the edge: the app is called Heads-up Notifications, not Rich Notification History. What you're asking for is NOT related to displaying heads-up notifications in any way, and it wouldn't make sense to add at all.

I could make this as a standalone app, but I simply can't justify the time it takes to implement it compared to how few users are interested. Thing is, making apps take a LOT of time. I do it in my spare time, and I made Heads-up because it was something a lot of people (including me) wanted.

I don't need "Notification History" personally, I don't learn anything new/useful from it, I don't think I can make money from it, and I don't see a lot of users being interested. So why should I make it?

This sounds harsh, but it's the hard truth of app development. If you can prove me wrong, that'd be great! So here's my promise to you: I'll make the app if you (or anyone reading this, really) manage to raise $100 towards making this app (a ridiculously low estimate compared to what it actually costs), and send it through the donate page here.

Thx Simen You raise good pointers which I as a supporter, not currently a dev can understand. I thought that recording into sqlite or text rc the latest 5 notifications passing through heads up and displaing them on demand from a shortcut or widget is nice to have and even you woukd like the idea. I will make some time to check the sources wven just to respect your hard work! Thx for your attention and maybe ppl would rate this feature, or not. Keep creating good stuff ZD On 22 Nov 2015 18:22, "SimenCodes" notifications@github.com wrote:
