I have the Invidious redirects toggle switch set to ON

I have an known good Invidious instance listed in the "Random Instance" pool

I have "Always proxy videos through Invidious" toggle switch set to ON

I go to Youtube, click a video link, it just plays in the YouTube player. It does not go to Invidious

For me the redirect works on firefox, but not on Brave.

For me when I click a video on the search result page, the video plays in the YouTube player. But when I copy its link and paste in a new tab, the video plays on my Invidious instance.

Used to work fine in Brave but stopped working a couple of months ago or so. Just found that was disabled but upon reenabling it still does not work in redirecting YT to Invidious. Links just open in YT. Have tried Site Access on all sites and only when click but makes no difference. Just added to Chrome and while it does redirect there it is all to fake, non Invidious instances.

Seconding this, exact same issue. It appears that once YouTube is open (home screen or any other tab), the videos opened on the site (whether in the same tab or opened in a new tab) don't get redirected to Invidious (nor freeplay). Only if the URL is manually pasted into the address bar.
