Neotoma provides 13 different publication types:

PubTypeID PubType
0 Legacy
1 Journal Article
2 Book Chapter
3 Authored Book
4 Edited Book
5 Master's Thesis
6 Doctoral Dissertation
7 Authored Report
8 Edited Report
9 Other Authored
10 Other Edited
11 Website
12 Undergraduate thesis

CrossRef provides "book", "book-chapter", "journal-article", "monograph", "report". These generally match up.

The "report" is a bit more problematic. Some reports appear to be articles/special reports, while others are stand-alone. Effectively "Book"s.

To update:

CrossRef accepts 26 different work types:

"book-section" "monograph" "report" "book-track" "journal-article" "book-part" "other" "book" "journal-volume" "book-set" "reference-entry" "proceedings-article" "journal" "component" "book-chapter" "report-series" "proceedings" "standard" "reference-book" "posted-content" "journal-issue" "dissertation" "dataset" "book-series" "edited-book" "standard-series"

I'd like to propose that we add these to the existing Neotoma Publication Types. This would align us with an industry standard. @iceageecologist @ericcgrimm

This seems like a good idea and probably/hopefully fairly straightforward to implement. Eric, what do you think?
