Yes that is the correct way make one of my functions "pluggable" so that you could override it in a child theme.
But b4st was never intended as a parent theme. I thought I made that evident to people enough in choosing it's name b4st -- Bootstrap 4 Starter Theme. It's what I have used as a basis for starting, to work up into a theme -- I don't build a child theme upon it.
But it seems the internet likes parent and child. OK.
I am developing another theme that is designed to be a parent. When it is stable I will create another repository.
I would like to override the default ReadMore behavior in a child theme. I believe this is the right way to do it.
