Thanks for the response. I don't think I quite understand what you mean. As far as I read, Percona isn't a company providing a special version of MySQL ... did you use a configuration provided by them, or what makes your MySQL installation a "Percona MySQL"?
I know, that (depending on the storage-engine you choose) your system can be stronger for read-heavy applications, write-heavy applications (f.e. archive) or other operations, depending on your configuration. This may, or may not, be visible in one of these benchmarks.
It can well be, that these tests are not made for Percona at all. If you have time, feel free to contribute and write some tests or modify existing ones. I haven't written them myself, so I don't really know how they work and perform. Just took this project over to Github because I thought more people would start contributing to it this way ;)
I get very very poor results with using phpspeed with a Percona Mysql. The DB is configured fine but I thing the tests are not made for Percona at all
