Sometimes all playlists randomly go empty #448

I have quite a few playlists saved in the music player, and sometimes these playlists just all become empty. Screenshot_20220913-152902 This already happened a few times now.

Once I've re-added all my music folders to each respective playlist, everything works again as normal.

I have all my music stored on the SD card in my phone, and I have the suspicion that sometimes the phone happens to lose connection to it (at least I've had some issues with the SD card in general). So that might be part of the cause, though it would be good if that did not result in me losing my playlists.

Hi to everyone, same happened to me, I lost my painfully prepared playlist with no apparent reason. Moreover I tried to locate the folder where the app stores the play lists cause I wanted to try to edit the playlist in order to get a new one with less effort but the file is so well hidden that I did not find it. Any help ... thanks Phone: pixel5 Android 13

This to me makes Simple Music Player almost unusable.

As @Garbaz more or less reports, a Playlist is successfully created (my Playlist has 100 to 200 tracks in it). However, when an event is triggered (e.g. rotate phone by 90 degrees), the number of tracks is reset to 0 after about 1 second.

What is also strange is that when attempting to re-add a track to the Playlist using "Add File to Playlist", the displayed track/file browser does not list the file. Even the folder which contains the track/file has a count of 0 for the number of files/tracks!

I tried looking through logcat but could only find messages relating to the triggering of the event with nothing happening beyond the event which I could notice (i.e. I saw nothing shown of the "event" trying to find files/tracks and failing, etc...)

@tibbi, with regards to inspecting logcat further, I might be able to help you. However, I will need guidance.

Issue #436 may or may not be related to this issue.

I wasn't actively trying to fix this issue but if I understand correctly, this is mostly happening with playlists created from a folder (they are emptied when media rescan happens in the background). This should be happening a lot less now in the latest version 5.17.1 available on the Google play store. This might even be completely fixed now as a side effect of https://github.com/SimpleMobileTools/Simple-Music-Player/pull/545

If anyone here is still facing this issue, please update to version 5.17.1 and check if it works for you, thanks!
