[FeatureRequest] Silent notifications for specific contact #135

It would also be nice to customize the notification for a specific contact. For example, a special ring for spouse, kids, friend, or someone from work.

I am a recent migrant from Signal Messenger as they have plans to drop sms support. I've been using Simple SMS for quite a while and I would like to say that it has been great experience so far. Thanks for the hard work guys.

One feature i really miss from Signal is the ability to mute notifications from specific numbers/shortcodes. I especially want this to mute messages from certain shortcodes such as my telecom provider who will spam me with the latest offers. I do not want to block the shortcode as my telecom provider also needs to send me OTP codes via the same shortcodes. I would like the feature to behave in such a way that we do not need to add the number as a contact.

So below is mockup for how i wish the feature to be seen from the end user. SMS_Mute Notifications

I hope that this request can be taken into consideration. Thank You.

@AsuraSloth, isn't that a separate request?

@rokejulianlockhart Well i saw a duplicate of my request on this issue #485 . And that issue is determined to be a duplicate of this issue here where im commenting.

Came here for this feature. Looks like issue #283 was supposed to have added this but I am not seeing it in Conversation details. Is that another issue of the same one?

It's still not merged.
