It would be great to have possibility to import and export SMS and MMS messages to file.

It would be the key advantage over other apps.

This would be very helpful for having a non-cloud backup, especially since several backup apps for the default "Messages" exist on F-Droid.

Without much hope I tried one of them - and to my surprise, Epistolaire managed to save all SMS from Simple SMS Messenger into JSON !
