Improve search bar to include contacts without prior conversations #711

Using the search bar at the top of the maen screen only searches for contacts with which you already sent or received messages. More precisely, it only searches for conversations, and not contacts. Other contacts cunnot be found through search.

This search bar should be able to show all the contacts listed on your phone, whether or not you've already exchanged messages with them. This is especially off-puting for new users on phones with no prior conversation data, who would think the app just plainly doesn't work.

This issue may explain other similar issues from the past that could then be fixed:

My phone specs: Android 11 Nokia TA-1157 Simple-SMS-Messenger 5.18.2 my contacts app is Simple Contacts Pro SE (https://github.com/stephanritscher/Simple-Contacts)

Searches made in the search bar at the top of the conversations list of the SMS app. Yes, it searches for conversations and not contacts, and that's pretty much my point: since you're able to search for contact names already, the SMS app should also allow you to search for contacts you've never had a conversation with before.

You could argue the Contacts app is made for that, searching for contacts. But if my intention is to send an sms, i am going to open the sms app, not the contacts app - same goes when i want to call someone, i'm going to open the dialer app.

it works as intended, you can use the search at New conversation to search contacts

I am not saying this is a bug, i am saying that this behavior should perhaps change.

Maybe this is a lot of work, that i can't tell, but i think allowing users to search for contacts from the New Conversation menu and from the search bar on the main screen would help fluidify the use of this app.
