After upgrading from 5.18.2 to 5.19.1, an incoming SMS beeps and creates a notification, but no longer puts a medallion on the home-page icon, although this is enabled at (NOTIFICATIONS → Customize notifications), both generally and for the Received SMS event. Samsung J7 with Android 8.0.0.

didnt you just have a system update?

Spike-from-NH commented 11 months ago

Not on that phone. Same lack of medallion on my Samsung J3 with Android 9, and [single-line message "Test"] no text of any message is not showing in the notification pulldown on either phone.

Went from 5.18.2 to 5.19.1 on BLU View 2 with Android 11, neither problem seen before or after upgrade.

After updating to 5.19.1 I get these Android message when a message arrives. I don't see any message in the app anymore.

Going back to version 5.18.2 everything is working fine

Original bug report is my fault for uninstalling a system app. (Which?) Problem occurs even after reverting to 5.18.2 when it didn't used to. Sorry for the nuisance. I'll retitle this issue to track the bug from @Ilav1.

will be fixed in 5.19.2

5.19.2 works fine again 👍

I have upgraded from 5.19.1 to 5.19.3 using Github APK. Equally good from my view. I still have no medallion on home-page icon nor message text in notification windowshade in my Samsung Android 8 and 9 phones; only Messenger is affected. Can anyone confirm this? If it is my fault for overzealously uninstalling packages, can anyone point to which one I should restore?
