Countdown timers to adjust according to when someone signs up to a list #392

Hi - I'm comparing Simplero to Deadline funnels and I love the countdown timer feature. Currently in Simplero the timer can only be set to expire on a certain day.

Please can you create a feature that enables the timer to automatically adjust to expire depending on WHEN someone signs up to a list please? It's what Deadline Funnels can do and it would be great if Simplero can do that so I don't need to purchase Deadline Funnels in addition to Simplero!

Thank you!

In Optimize Press, this is called an "evergreen countdown" so the clock starts ticking when someone actually clicks the link to go to the page with the clock. :)

And yes, I use that feature all the time. It is very handy! It would be awesome to have this in Simplero too.

Meanwhile Jane, this may help you: Right now, since my Optimize Press evergreen clock cannot sync with my Simplero emails series, I set the weblinks in the emails to expire so the subscriber cannot access the sales page indefinitely. Being able to make the links expire is a HUGE, awesome Simplero trick you want to use! (Thanks, everyone at Simplero!)

Also, I try to set the clock on my sales page so it runs out about the same time the Simplero weblinks-in-the-emails expire.

It's a good idea.

How would that work exactly?

Is this on a landing page or in an email?

How would you say which list we should grab the timestamp from? What happens if someone gets this email or sees this landing page that's not on the list?

Thanks that’s great but people sign up at different times for my evergreen webinar so the expiry for their special price is set for 7 days after they register on EVERWEBINAR. The Simplero countdown timer only goes to a specific date.

How do I work it so the countdown timer works W from the date they join a list and only lasts 7 days?

Hi Calvin

It would be in an email. The countdown timer should be set to expire from a certain day they sign up (eg 7 days from joining a list) and the countdown timer is in the emails telling people the price is going up in 1 more day or in 12 hours etc.

“Deadline Funnels” do this and integrate with webinar sign ups

I attached a pic of the inside view Optimize Press versions of countdown clocks: one for evergreen mode when the clock starts ticking as each individual opens the page -- and the other for a specific amount of time when everyone is on the same deadline.

The problem with the countdown is that when someone resets their cache and cookies, the clock also resets. This seems to be a universal problem with most if not all countdown clocks no matter who the creator is, Optimize Press, LeadPages, etc

The finished product looks something like this, though normally there are several clock face options:

Let me know if you need another image.

Thanks for that. Does ‘Deadline Funnels’ have the same problem too?

I don’t really care about having a countdown timer but an online coach is encouraging me to use it as she says it increases conversions. I don’t have stats on that so am not sure if it’s worth actually using. I’m currently using the Simplero emails to tell people doors are closing soon … maybe that is enough?

Jane, I don't know from personal experience if "deadline funnels" also reset when a potential customer resets their cache and cookies. My guess is yes since the concept of scarcity based on a limited time offer is still there.

Deadline Funnels does not reset when a visitor resets their cache/cookies. That's what I love so much about using Deadline Funnels for evergreen products.
