Oooh yes. I would love this too. Or just the option like in spaces - to have several forums, and autopublish them <3
I am all for this one. Or a smaller version. Will need ability to moderate like the forum that is there now
Feature The main functionality I am looking for is the ability to organize my members into groups so they can communicate with one another. Overall, I would want similar functionality as Facebook groups.
Ideally, having the option for members to be able to create their own groups within a membership site, and set a size limit (although this option may not be suitable for all businesses/organizations). Alternatively, an admin being able to create groups for members but limiting access to those groups, either by manually adding members or by setting a certain number of members allowed within the group.
Within the groups, members should be able to communicate freely with one another (without anyone outside of the group being able to view this communication). In these groups, I think it would be more valuable to have some kind of chat feature or ability to post updates than to post blogs/forums, but I can see the use value in all of those communication tools (just depends on how the group is being used).
Currently, the workaround for this in Simplero could be creating separate membership sites for each group, but that is not ideal. I think it would be cleaner and more user-friendly (both for admins and members) to be able to have separate groups within a membership site.
Why Lots of coaches, instructors and mentors work with small groups. This is a better way to facilitate open discussion, while digging deeper into individual's issues and allowing group members to grow and learn from one another. Most people are not comfortable opening up in a larger forum.
Having online groups would allow communication to flow in-between whatever other "real world" touch points a coach may have (calls, etc.), which in turn could lead to more engaged students and better results. Being able to create small groups would allow communication to flow regardless of time zones or daily schedules... people could post when it was convenient for their schedule.
Use Case I have 3 cases in mind for myself...
1) As a spirit-based marketer, I would like to provide my clients with a community of like minded entrepreneurs where they can collaborate with one another in a focused and private environment (as opposed to Facebook where there are tons of distractions). Many entrepreneurs work alone and that can get lonely, which can also lead to getting stagnant. Having a group of like minded people as an accountability/mastermind group can be motivating and uplifting, but it needs to feel safe.
...EXAMPLE... A member/client of mine wants to organize their own mastermind group to help keep them moving forward.
2) As part of a spiritual development course I am developing, I would like to assign mentors to students, as well as provide my students the ability to organize themselves into groups (for group meditations, study groups, accountability groups, etc.), without their communications being publicly visible (both for their privacy and to keep an uncluttered experience for others).
3) A coach may want to include a Mastermind group as part of an online course package. Right now they are probably using Facebook Groups for that, but that pulls clients/members away from the coach's site and can lead them into distraction. Having separate groups within one membership allows the course to be housed for everyone within one membership site (making it much easier if the course ever needs updating), while also allowing the benefit of small group discussions.
Possible fields/options within the group feature
Final Notes I think I have covered it pretty thoroughly, but let me know if anything is unclear and I will do my best to provide clarity.
PS. I created a GitHub account specifically to submit feature requests, so this isn't something I monitor closely. I apologize in advance if I don't see/respond to comments or questions. :)
