We've been using Simply Static for a couple of years and for the longest time, were happy on an older version. However, last week it started giving us issues where it couldn't generate and would get stuck without the ability to cancel. We've followed the instructions including pausing/deleting the cron events but nothing seemed to help. The only thing that made any difference was resetting the plugin settings, which would at least let us attempt to start the generate again.
So in trying to solve this issue, I upgraded to the latest version, where I now get a whole host of new issues. Everything looks good in the diagnostics screen (including read/write etc...) but when trying to generate I get the following:

This will go on and on. The cancel doesn't do anything, so again, the only way to get it to stop is to reset the plugins settings.

At the moment we're completely stuck.
