Good idea. To answer his comment: I think it's not common but it's a valid way of doing it. I've seen people use $V$, $\mathcal{V}$ (that's what he suggests), and $\mathbb{V}$ alike.
Our notation section could be following the introduction and would be mostly copied from the DL book. Except we do not need all symbols which Goodfellow specifies there. But referencing him and copying over what we need and use seems reasonable.
I will take care of this copying some of the notation over, since I am focused on writing.
