I wouldn't recommend it. If it's a modern integrated GPU (Vega x or something), it might barely work. But it's very unoptimized right now, so no guarantees.
Valves goal is to have 90fps at 2160×1200, with reasonable detail in a video game. A desktop environment is a lot simpler geometry and lighting, it might work on a very new integrated graphics chip, a Iris or Vega might have with enough pixel throughput, but I wouldn't personally risk the investment.
An Iris Xe is strong enough to drive Simula as-is.

Steamvr on Windows needs gtx970. I don't know what the hardware requirements are? Can I use integrated graphics card with low voltage chip?
